School Of Music
The school of music exists to teach students skill and to help them develop confidence so that they can impact their communities for Jesus Christ using the arts.
Currently, the school of music offers private lesson instruction in drums, bass, voice, piano, guitar and dance.

Instructors
Kim Miller (Director) - Piano
Kim has a bachelor of theology with a music major and has been teaching for over 8 years. Kim teaches classical and popular piano, chording and more.
Derek Gust - Guitar
Derek loves playing, performing, writing and teaching music. He plays bass for the Junkyard Poets who have been nominated for two GMA awards, toured with the Newsboys and played at YC. Derek has also just released his own solo CD.
Chris Shedden - Piano
Chris’s background in music is classical. He plays in Evangel Assembly worship band. He will be taking on students who would like to presue Grades 1-3 RCM exams.
Becky - Hip Hop
Becky is trained in ballet, lyrical jazz, contemporary and Hip Hop dance. She has performed at Artist Emerge and the Global Day of Prayer.
Beverly Johnston - Piano/Vocal
Beverly is a former public school music teacher and has taught many years privately. She will be teaching private & group vocal lessons & private piano lessons. **Please note: Group Vocal class is open to intermediate students ONLY**
John David Ferrera - Guitar
John David has taught guitar to beginners from scratch for years. He has years of experience in training musicians for worship teams. He plays piano at Evangel Assembly. He will be teaching a group beginner’s guitar class & private piano & guitar lessons
Michelle Zerbin
Michelle comes to us with a background in elementary music and years of piano and vocal training. A singer/songwriter herself, she has performed at the Fringe Festival and various venues throughout the city. Her passion is to train-up musicians with a passion for their art.
Nathan Marshall - Drums
For the past 8 years, Nathan has performed extensively with local pop and rock artists, including Maren Ord, Kyla Sandulak, Define the Line, and Artisan Loyalist. Honing many of his abilities in church, Nathan continues to play with several worship teams and artists throughout the city. He is excited to share his passion for drumming with students of all ages and abilities. When he's not making noise behind the drum kit, Nathan is busy teaching his grade 6 class at Millwoods Christian School and spending time with his wife and best friend, Daisha.
Brittany Mueller
Brittany will be teaching piano to our beginner/younger students. She is currently pursing a music degree at Vanguard College. She has a passion for worship & has been involved in various worship teams for years.
Peter Mol
Making the stage & studio his office, Peter has been in the music industry for the past 6 years. Touring North America and playing with/ sharing the stage with some of North America's finest acts anywhere from living rooms to stadiums.
The past two years he's branched out doing session work playing with several various artists from in and around Canada. It's this versatility that allows him to bring so much to the table style-wise; a comprehensive customized lesson plan according to students; skill, age, interests and desires (Rock, Pop, Jazz, Worship, Funk etc.) 11 time nominated for Gospel Music Awards (won Artist of the Year)" Featured in an issue of Modern Drummer Magazine.
Important Information
Make Up Lessons
Make up lessons will be only made up in the case of a sick call. Calls need to be made by noon on the day of the lesson. Make up lesson will be scheduled through your instructor depending on their availability.
Commitment
Students need to commit to the entire semester.
Progress Reports
Students well be given a a progress report at the end of the semester recording their progress and giving helpful tips as they develop their skill.
Fees
The classes are divided into two semesters: Fall & Spring. Students may start at any time throughout the calendar year providing there is space available.
Prices for the Private 30-minute lessons are as follows:
- $18.00 (Early bird price - till August 28th (fall), December 27th (Spring))
- $20.00 (Regular price)
* note early bird dates are subject to change
Lessons are given on a weekly basis. However, students are able to take more than one lesson/instrument per week.
Tuition must be paid in advance prior to the first lesson of that semester.
We accept debit, cash and post dated checks for payment. Checks should be made out to Evangel Pentecostal Assembly. Advance arrangements may also be made for payments with a credit or debit card.
